Creating Meaningful Impact in the Lives of Patients, Families, and Communities

Temple nurses are leaders in their field, providing compassionate care in an academic medical setting for specialty and subspecialty services, supporting a level 1 trauma center, and consistently innovating to provide the best value to their patients and the health system.

At Temple, nurses are empowered to do their best work every day. With guidance of exemplary nurse leadership, a support network of mentors, education assistance for advanced learning, research opportunities, and with a regarded platform for contribution in the institution, nurses are highly esteemed partners within clinical teams. Guided by the Temple professional practice model, Temple nurses have the knowledge, skills, and resources they need to make a purposeful impact in the lives of patients every day, and in the nursing field at large.

Temple Health’s commitment to nursing excellence is reflected in:

It is an honor to work with the incredible nurses here at Temple. Their dedication to the quality of our care, to mentoring new nurses, and to advancing their skills, as well as the field at large never fails to make me proud to call each of them a treasured colleague.

Temple Nursing offers extensive continuing education and professional development opportunities, which include the “Success Pays” program, the nurse extern program, and our New to Practice program nurse residency program. In fact, the New to Practice program has PTAP accreditation with distinction, the highest level of recognition by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Practice Transition Accreditation Program (PTAP).

Community Dedication

Temple Nurses provide a wealth of support, not only to the Philadelphia community, but nationally and globally. From the Philadelphia Amtrak train derailment to volunteering abroad after a tanker fire in Sierra Leone, Temple Nurses are passionate about serving those who need it most.
