Visiting Hours

Because family and friends can play such a significant role in a patient’s recovery, Temple University Hospital offers 24-hour visitation for immediate family members and designated support persons. We encourage other loved ones to visit between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. Please see below for specific guidelines and policies for individual units.

Visitor Guidelines & Policies

  • All visitors are required to wear a visitor’s badge
  • Patients are permitted a maximum of two visitors at a time
  • For the safety of all patients, visitors must be free from illness, including colds and the flu
  • Children under the age of 12 are not permitted to visit
  • Visitors must return their badge to the Information Desk before leaving
Intensive Care & Surgical Waiting Areas

Two members of the immediate family of patients who are critically ill or undergoing surgery may wait in the Intensive Care Waiting Area and Surgical Waiting Area. All other family and friends should wait in one of the hospital’s lobbies.

Infant Intensive Care Unit

Visitation to the Infant Intensive Care Unit is limited to immediate family members only, including parents and grandparents. Siblings and other children are not permitted in the Infant ICU.

Maternity Unit

Fathers/significant others, grandparents and siblings are welcome in the Maternity Unit. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Siblings and other children are not permitted in the Well Baby Nursery.

Labor & Delivery

24-hour visitation is permitted for up to two people. Children under the age of 15 are not permitted in Labor & Delivery.
