One of Temple Transport Team’s main features is our air medical program, Temple MedFlight*, which provides 24/7 critical care transport, inter-hospital transfers and organ retrievals in the Eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, New York and Maryland regions. Established in 2006 to expand Temple Health’s critical care transport capabilities, Temple MedFlight operates from its base at Doylestown Hospital in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and also provides emergency/911 response to Bucks, Montgomery, Chester and Berks counties.
The Aircraft
Temple MedFlight operates an EC-135 T3 helicopter with a cruising speed of 157 mph and a primary operating range of 75 nautical miles (nm) [with a secondary range of 100 nm]. The aircraft is outfitted with the latest technologies in safety, including weather radar, night vision goggles, a terrain awareness warning system, satellite phone/tracking services and a progressive cockpit resource management program.
Dispatch services are handled by Temple Transport Team’s Comprehensive Communications Center. using AIRCOMM, an industry-leading airborne audio system. Temple MedFlight also works closely with local 911 centers to quickly dispatch and monitor the flight path of the aircraft.
