Access to Quality Care

Reducing wait time in the ER helps improve patients’ access to care, decrease delays in treatment, and lessen patient suffering. Chestnut Hill Hospital’s door-to-clinician time is under 30 minutes* and is measured from when a patient arrives at the ER to their first personal interaction with a healthcare provider, such as a physician, nurse practitioner or physician assistant.

While ER traffic is unpredictable and will fluctuate, we take care to successfully manage surges and see patients as soon as possible. Our team closely reviews the overall patient volume and movement in the ER, so we can update staffing accordingly and meet each patient’s needs.
